XSOrbit
What was originally known as a forum to "bring all the intelligent users of the Comedy Central message board together", became a large community of close friends and a team that would unite for many years in various internet robotic events. After Battlebots got cancelled, the community knew they needed to stay alive and stay fresh so they started many different activites.
It was originally a fantasy Battlebots league run by Matt Bozenda (ERSCaptain) which was called FRC. After awhile, a new league started by Dylan Pommer (FishofDoom) was created (similiar to FRC) but incorporated designing your own bots and entering them in a fantasy league. This league was known as Custom Fantasy Robot Combat (CFRC). Later on, the league became so popular that John Garrison (Omegaforce) created another custom league called Fantasy Fury (FF), that would run for two seasons.
The fantasy leagues came and went but it was time to move on to something different...so therefore, the forum decided to focus interest on the new popular online video game Robot Arena 2. This created a whole new dimension for the community of the XSOrbit unit as other forums (Aceuplink, RA-Reborn) started getting involved in Robot Arena 2 as well. The game became so popular that Aceuplink began running online tournaments. Therefore, XSOrbit joined in and decided to run a tournament on XSOrbit. After the first season's lack of success, Gemini (Chris Schramm) took over for second tournament and made it a big success. After the second tournament became a big hit, Gemini decided to open up a replica tournament, which was also popular.
Unfortunately, Robot Arena 2 began losing interest and so did the tournaments. Therefore, the third tournament was cancelled. With nowhere to turn, Diacronic (Steve Olshefski) and Komodo (Joe Hamilton) took the community to the next stage in their evolution...
